Equal Exchange provides Terra Cafe with fairly traded and organic coffee, snacks, tea, cocoa and chocolate. Instead of exploiting small farmers, Equal Exchange celebrates and helps facilitate fair and earth friendly production and purchase of coffee for small time purveyors and farmers.

Since 1986, Equal Exchange has promoted The Big Change and their ideas for a food system empowering farmers and consumers. It’s an impressive organization and well before its time. The Big Change supports small farmer co-ops and that use sustainable farming methods. According to Equal Exchange, they “started with fairly traded coffee from Nicaragua and didn’t look back.
